Gemini Finds | Baker Outdoor Loveseat, One Kings Lane
So this outdoor furniture search came from my vision for the final touches of my garden landscape redesign. They say necessity is the mother of invention, and lemme tell you, when you demo almost everything in your garden and start from a near blank slate, shade is a necessity. Especially since it hit 90 F in Napa earlier this week.
How does an outdoor patio lounge chair fit into the need for shade? So a couple years back, I took a trip to Morocco and was completely smitten by, well everything, but especially with the concept of courtyard living and rooftop terraces. Nobody does it better or with more style than Morocco.
So I knew I’d need a temporary shade structure (like for a couple years) over my seating area until my trees grow enough to shade it, and I thought of the casually elegant shade structures I’d seen there.

To make a long design-story short, I’ve decided to create my own version of a Moroccan shaded terrace and this lounge chair, whether the Baker or the Safavieh version, fits with the style.
Here’s how One Kings Lane described it:

The Baker version comes in the Natural color or in Dark Slate Gray with beige cushions.
The Safavieh chair comes in Teak and Dark Gray also with beige cushions.
Both are made from acacia wood which I read up about for outdoor use and sounds like it holds up well, but I don’t have personal experience with it.
I saw spotted this chair and it immediately conjured up romantic notions of Marrakesh or Mumbai before I’d even read the description. (Not that I’ve been to Mumbai. Yet.)
I plan to pair it with a second chair plus an outdoor sofa and cocktail table. Its’ deep seating encourages pulling your feet up and lounging with a chilled cocktail at the end of a hot day exploring an exotic, far-flung locale (or if you’re in Napa, after a hard day of wine tasting).
