Easy Fall Tablescape [Thanksgiving Style Ideas]
Thanksgiving is just around the corner, so I wanted to bring you some ideas for an easy fall tablescape. Check out my fall outdoor table below for a neutral and natural look using many items you can find around your home and garden.

Decorate your fall table with items from home and garden
If you’ve read my other posts on fall decorating, you’ll know I’m all about making a few changes to create a seasonal look that can easily be swapped in or out over more time consuming decorating.
So don’t worry - no pumpkins were eviscerated to create living centerpieces holding fresh fall flowers (I love that look but just don’t have the stamina to carve out a squash vase that will last a couple days.)
Instead, I once again decided to stick mostly with décor I already had; natural materials but not fresh, with versatile neutral dishes and accessories, so they can all be stowed away and reused for other seasons and holidays. My purchases were the cotton linen-like napkins with the fun fringe-edge and the pillar candles. (Of all things, I didn’t have any white pillars!)
Fall tablescape setup - natural elements
I decided to set up the table outside instead of in the dining room. It seemed appropriate for this year, plus I finished my landscaping last spring.
I bought this travertine-limestone table from eBay circa 2003, always planning to have it outside. Fast forward to 2020 (better late than never…), it finally stopped being my office desk and made it into the garden. No easy feat since it weighs in at more than 300 lbs.
I used my white petal stoneware plates with Anthropologie wrought-iron snail napkin rings - both discontinued now, but check out the “Shop the Look” below for similar items.
A black and white table runner and green-gray cotton napkins soften the stone table and stoneware plates. The fringe edges help tie them together.

To add some natural elements to the table, I clipped some Pennisetum “Little Bunny” ornamental grass (I’m totally seduced by that oh-so-cute name) and tucked them into the napkin rings. On top of the napkins, I dropped a few horse-chestnut conkers and walnuts collected by my boys years ago.
I arranged the pinecone garland around the table in a serpentine manner, snaking it around the candles, and plates.
My neighbor gave me these white volunteer gourds that appeared in her garden. I love them and am attempting to dry them so I can display them year after year. I did a little research and placed them on a heater vent. We’ll see how that goes…
I picked a few oranges along with more nuts and Little Bunnies Pennisetum and placed them on a Target Hearth and Hand with Magnolia organic-shaped plate for a (very) quick decorative centerpiece of sorts.
That’s a wrap. Check out the decor below if you want to put together your own neutral and natural fall table. Happy Thanksgiving!
