A lot has happened over the course of one year, and it was fun to look back to see what was most popular. I had no idea what would resonate with readers and what wouldn’t. I had never blogged before, and I was seriously winging it for at least a couple quarters. Mostly just writing what I felt I needed to get off my chest both plant and design-wise.
It was gratifying to see that many of my posts did connect with people, and it made me glad that I gave myself space to organically write what I wanted instead of trying to be more strategic and methodical, which would be an easy default for me, but I think would have been stifling too. So without further ado, here’s the Greenhouse Studio top 10 posts!

There’s nary a red poinsettia or decoration in sight; I think I craved a palette of soothing greenery with muted winter neutrals after a tumultuous year. A natural palette is also a practical choice.

Read MoreFall season is upon us and with it - fall decorating - ready or not. I went for an easy seasonal decor look this year - more neutral and minimal. I think many are swinging one way or another due to the craziness that’s been 2020. People either going “full pumpkin” in an effort to regain a sense of normalcy or they’re just over it all and opting for a simpler, more pared-down approach. Although I’m still not quite ready to go full pumpkin, tis the season as Halloween is here in three weeks, so the Great Pumpkin is on it’s way - ready or not.
Read MoreLooking for home office inspo? How about light, plants and neutrals meet vintage charm? The Greenhouse Studio home office renovation has been underway for some time. The construction part of it has been done for a while now, but the design details? Well… that usually seems to take me a bit longer to actually finish. Longer than it should take as I’m the first to admit. I’m still arranging and adjusting a few things, specifically the shelving, so I want to share how it got to this point; the before and in-progress shots, my inspo and mood boards, and plans.
I’ve actually been using it as my office for a couple months now and I love sitting in this light-filled space tapping away on the keyboard. Believe me though, when you see the “before” shots, you may share a bit of the surprise I feel at how much I enjoy the room now.

Read MoreAre you almost as picky about your indoor plant accessories and pots as you are your plants? Looking to bring the outdoors in with a garden room and a bunch of ugly plastic accessories and pots don’t fit the bill? Me too!
While I definitely have quirky plant preferences that may or may not be rooted in aesthetics, (like some weird trait they have) I want them looking good in their container and on display.
They are the living part of my home decor and in many ways my favorite design elements, but regardless, they need to contribute to the home aesthetic and not just look like a bunch of plastic-y pots crowded together by a window. (OK so that’s kinda what’s going on in my kitchen, but we’ll pretend otherwise for now.)
Read MoreThis is my exact design process written down for designing and decorating a space. The whole point though is to make it adaptable so it serves YOU, your home, and your loved ones. If you follow these guidelines, you will create a room that is comfortable, cohesive, functional for you and yours, and reflects your own personal style.

You realize every time it was even slightly moved, it was slowly etching itself into your countertop until you finally discovered it?
